OUR SEN VISION AND ETHOS
At St. John's we celebrate all differences across the school. Ensuring that all children with a range of different strengths and needs are included is a core part of our educational vision. Inclusion runs through each of St. John's school’s core values of creation, integrity, humility, respect and hope.
St John's is committed to meeting the needs of all pupils including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). We strive to ensure that every child with SEND, receives a full and enriching education to enable them to achieve their potential.
We involve external experts whenever necessary to improve our offer and ensure that children’s needs are identified and met as quickly as possible. We similarly ensure that staff have the relevant training and support to ensure that best practice is used with regard to SEND. All staff within school have frequent and open communication, ensuring that the school community works together to implement plans and provide for children with all different types of need.
At every step of this process, we aim to involve parents and families and build trusting and open relationships. It is important that we work as a team with you to ensure the best outcomes for all children and to ensure children and families have a sense of belonging within our school community.
You can read more about SEND at St. John's on this page in our SEND information report and in our SEND policy.
