I qualified as a primary teacher in 2008 and have been employed at St Johns ever since! I feel lucky to have worked for all this time amongst some amazing and inspirational pupils and colleagues. I have taught in most year groups, although I do enjoy the sense of humour that the older children bring to the classroom. Currently I work full time and, when not teaching my class, work on meeting the needs of those children for whom English is an additional language.
I have a passion for reading and am always on the look out for a new good book. Linking stories to our learning and being creative with ways to get children 'hooked' into a new topic is something I particularly enjoy in my role. Travelling is also a hobby of mine and before embarking on my teaching career, I travelled to many places and lived in Japan for a year and a half.
