Welcome to Foundation Stage at St Johns! We are made up of three classes - the Ladybirds, Crickets and Fireflies! We love coming to school to learn and play in our fabulous indoor and outdoor provision.
Here is a little information about all of the staff in our wonderful team.
In the Spring term we have two fantastic topics to explore! In Spring 1, we will be going on a world tour with our exciting topic "What a wonderful world!". Each week we will be learning about a different place and comparing how peoples homes are similar or different to our own. We will be learning about the UK, China, India, Africa and Australia!
In Spring 2, we will be learning about people who help us in our topic "Heroes and Heroines". We will be exploring the jobs that people do and how this impacts society. We will be learning about doctors, police, vets and scientists! We will also be following the seasons throughout this term and exploring the signs of Winter. We will finish off the Spring term by learning all about Easter.
We will be continuing our daily phonics lessons, and we will be consolidating our phase three digraphs and trigraphs. We will be reading and writing sentences independently using our sight words and sounds.
In maths, we will be continuing to develop a deep understanding of number using practical resources as well as whole-part models and number sentences.
Have a look at some photos of our fabulous learning!
Don't forget to come along each week to our Book and Biscuit mornings!
