Loving Learning, Building Community, Growing in Faith

Welcome

Mrs Bailey

Hello! My name is Mrs. Bailey, and I am the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), Senior Mental Health Lead (SMHL), and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) here at St. John's. After nine wonderful years of teaching at my previous special school, I made the move back to Leicester and joined this lovely community in 2024.

I have extensive experience working with children facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges, with a particular focus on being Attachment and Trauma informed. As SENCO and SMHL, I coordinate support and education plans for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and implement mental health and wellbeing support for those who need it.

It’s vital to me that every child feels they belong, and I believe we must break down barriers to create an inclusive environment. Building strong, healthy relationships is key, so I strive to ensure students feel comfortable talking and working with adults in our school to allow them to make progress, feel safe and be happy.

When I’m not at work, I love spending time with my son and family, exploring new places, playing games, and enjoying long walks with our dog.
