I have started my exciting new journey at St Johns. It has been one that was met with a warm welcome from staff, children and parents. My passion for teaching was ignited when I visited my old primary school in Zimbabwe. I witnessed first hand how the teachers were making a positive contribution towards empowering students in a resource limited setting. My experience has allowed me to optimise student experience with the valuable resources available. I was further encouraged to become a primary school teacher after volunteering in a local school whilst working in a secondary.
I have taught at many schools throughout my career which has enriched my abilities and allowed me to learn new skills which I believe have helped me with my teaching. I have a strong belief that the safety and well being of children is paramount and also feel it is important for me to have a good rapport with parents.
My hobbies include pastry making, baking and cooking.
My favourite saying is “don’t be afraid to make mistakes as it shows you are trying”
